PARENTAL INVOLVEMENT

Covenant Christian School represents the cooperative effort of parents, teachers, and other friends of the school who work together to provide a quality, well-rounded, Christ-centered education for its students. It is the practical involvement of us all that makes these years so special for the children and memorable for parents. One of our goals is to provide ways for parents to play a meaningful part in their children's school experience. Therefore we ask all parents to consider ways in which they might be able to serve in the school. A list of suggestions is distributed annually at the first parent meeting, otherwise known as the Back to School Night.

Some parents are able to volunteer several hours a week to come in and help at the school, while others are only able to volunteer occasionally. Most parents are able to attend special events held occasionally during the school day such as classroom plays, special feasts, and the like. We realize that not all parents are in the position to be practically involved in the life of the school to the same degree. We are grateful for however much and in whatever ways each parent is able to volunteer. However, because parental involvement has such a significant impact on the atmosphere of the school, we ask that each parent endeavor to set aside two days (or the equivalent) per year to serve in the school.

We also expect all parents to support Covenant Christian School by upholding the standards we have established for the school, fulfilling their financial obligations to the school, faithfully attending Parent Meetings, maintaining open and honest channels of communication with the faculty and staff, and attending parent-teacher conferences. Thanks for the way you do this!

Fundraising is a way to keep the school costs down and provide students with many extras. Parents are asked to participate actively in this effort. Suggestions from parents regarding worthwhile fundraisers are appreciated.

Parents should contact their child's teacher or the school office to find how they can make the most helpful volunteer contribution to the school
